Plastic Laminate Lockers

Plastic laminate lockers offer an inexpensive storage solution with a wide range of appearance options for the budget conscious owner.  With a large selection of surface color and textures available, plastic laminate can match almost any architectural color pallet. The smooth melamine (plastic) surface can be easily cleaned using common cleaning products and the lockers come pre-assembled simplifying installation.    

P-Lam lockers are constructed from low cost material made by laminating or gluing a colored melamine (plastic) sheet to a wood-based composite panel. The colored plastic gives the panel its aesthetic appearance and the wood base gives the panel its strength.  A gluing process is used to bond the melamine to the board material to create the finished product.  The result is a inexpensive panel with a durable surface that requires no additional finishing or protection.

Although not as robust as metal lockers, the plastic laminate locker is acceptable for general use.  Plastic Laminate lockers are best suited for light duty applications where the potential for malicious damage or exposure to moisture is low. 

The plastic outer layer of P-Lam lockers is generally moisture resistant. However, the wood fiber core is not. Care should be taken when cleaning or during general use not to expose the wood particle interior of these lockers to water. Swelling and/or splitting will result. As such we do not recommend using plastic laminate lockers for use a high humidity or wet environment.
